Wait before your first wash
After your colour service, give your hair some time before shampooing. We recommend waiting 48 hours when possible to help minimize premature colour fading.
Use professional colour-safe products
The products you use at home can make a big difference in how long your colour stays vibrant.
We recommend using a professional, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner, chosen specifically for your hair type and colour.
Ask your stylist which Oligo products are right for you.
Why professional products?
They are formulated to cleanse and condition without unnecessarily stripping the hair, helping you get more life from your colour.Turn down the temperature

Try to:
Wash with lukewarm water
Finish with a cooler rinse
Limit excessive heat styling
Always use a heat protectant when blow-drying or styling
Protect your colour between appointments
Sun, chlorine, salt water and frequent heat styling can all affect your colour.
If you're swimming:

Protect your hair when possible
Rinse thoroughly afterward
Follow with a moisturizing treatment

Your extensions are an investment, and a little extra care at home can help keep them looking beautiful, comfortable and healthy between appointments.
Be gentle when brushing
Always use a brush designed for extensions and start at the ends, gradually working your way up toward the roots. Support your hair near the attachment points while brushing and avoid pulling or tugging.
We recommend brushing your hair regularly, especially before washing and before bed.
Wash with care
Use the products recommended by your stylist and focus shampoo primarily on your scalp and roots. Allow the shampoo to cleanse the lengths as it rinses through rather than aggressively scrubbing your extensions.
Apply conditioner mainly through the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the attachment points unless your stylist recommends otherwise.
Protect your hair while sleeping
Never go to bed with wet extensions.
Make sure your hair is completely dry before sleeping and consider loosely braiding or tying it back to minimize tangling and friction overnight.
Be mindful of heat
Heat styling is perfectly possible with extensions, but excessive heat can contribute to dryness and damage.
Always use a heat protectant and avoid applying direct heat to your extension attachments.
Keep up with your maintenance appointments
Extensions require regular professional maintenance to keep them looking their best and to protect the health of your natural hair.
Your stylist will recommend your ideal maintenance schedule based on your extension type, application method and individual hair.

The way you wash and style your hair at home can make a big difference in its health, shine and longevity. Here are a few simple habits we recommend between salon visits.
Wash with your hair type in mind
Not every hair type needs to be washed on the same schedule. Your stylist can help you determine how often you should wash based on your scalp, hair texture, colour and lifestyle.
When shampooing, focus on cleansing the scalp and roots. Let the suds gently work through the lengths rather than scrubbing the hair itself.
Condition your lengths and ends
Apply conditioner primarily through the mid-lengths and ends, where hair typically needs the most moisture. Allow it to sit for the recommended time before rinsing thoroughly.
For extra-dry or colour-treated hair, your stylist may recommend incorporating a professional treatment or mask into your routine.
Be gentle with wet hair
Hair is more vulnerable when it's wet.
Avoid aggressive towel-drying and instead gently squeeze out excess water with a soft towel or microfiber towel. Use a wide-tooth comb or appropriate brush and work from the ends upward.
Protect before heat styling
Before using a blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron, always apply a heat protectant.
Try to keep your tools at an appropriate temperature for your hair type and avoid repeatedly passing high heat over the same section.
Don't forget UV & environmental protection
Sun exposure, chlorine, salt water and environmental factors can all affect your hair's condition and colour.
If you're spending time outdoors or swimming, ask your stylist about products that can help protect your hair.
Choose products for your hair
The best products aren't necessarily the ones that are trending—they're the ones that are right for your hair.
Your stylist can help you choose a shampoo, conditioner, treatment and styling products based on your hair type, colour, texture and goals.
